white pines are very common in and around Georgian Bay

they can grow in the thin soils that cover the bedrock of the landscape 

it is not uncommon to find a white pine growing in a tiny pocket of soil, in a crack among the rocks

not only can they grow in such little earth they also withstand the strong winds the bay brings

a symbol of strength and resilience from our home
